Procedure: Blepharoplasty (“Anchor” Incisional Crease Surgery), Ptosis Correction
This patient had weakness of both of her eyelids, worse on her right. Both eyelid muscles were tightened (ptosis repair) and a crease placed (blepharoplasty). Note that the eyelashes no longer point downward and the vertical opening is greater than preoperatively.

7 days post-op. The epicanthoplasty allows the crease to fold in a more natural shape. The scar will become flat in a few weeks in most cases.

Patient 09 – Eyelid Surgery
Description:
Procedure: Ptosis Correction
This patient looked sleepy and her eyelid crease fluctuated throughout the day and the lines were not crisp or symmetric. Sometimes she had headaches from straining her forehead to look more alert. This “ptosis” was corrected by strengthening the muscle that opens the eyes- note how more of her iris shows. Her hollow orbits also filled out more. She looks more alert and engaging. Interestingly, you can see how her brows dropped down to a more relaxed position post op.
